Most HBO graduates continue to do well in the labour market. This is the picture that emerges from the annual HBO-Monitor survey conducted by the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) at Maastricht University. The most important conclusion from the monitor is that almost all higher vocational education graduates who completed their degrees in 2019/2020 class have a job; four out of five work in jobs requiring at least their own level of education, and over 60% already have a permanent job. “It’s striking how well this group of HBO graduates is doing, considering that they entered the labour market when the COVID-19 pandemic was in full swing,” says Dr Barbara Belfi, project manager for the HBO-Monitor at ROA.
